If you are looking for an adventure-filled day in Thailand, then a tour to Phi Phi Island is a must-do. The island is known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs, making it a popular destination for tourists. I woke up early in the morning, excited for the tour I had booked. The pick-up time was quite early, but I didn't mind as I was eager to explore the island.
As soon as I boarded the speedboat, I knew it was going to be an adventurous day. It was my first time on a speedboat and I had not prepared for the rough waves. Out of excitement, I choose to sit in the front open space. It was both the best and worst decision. The ride was so bumpy that we had to grip the rode as tight as possible, or we would be thrown to the other end of the boat by the waves. But despite the rough ride, the views were amazing.
Our first stop was Bamboo Island, where we got off the boat and took some photos. The island was peaceful and secluded, providing the perfect opportunity to relax and take in the surroundings. After a few minutes of rest, we set off again, this time heading to the famous Maya Bay. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, and we couldn't go to the other side of the island, but we were already at the main spot. There, we jumped in the water for a swim and snorkelling. It was my first coral experience, and I was flabbergasted. I could have spent hours just watching them.
Our last stop was lunch at Phi Phi Island, which was super crowded. I had lunch and sat at the beach waiting for the boat time. Honestly, the most hyped Phi Phi was the lowest point of the trip. The crowds and the commercialization of the area took away from the natural beauty of the island. But, I didn't let that dampen my spirits.
As the tour came to an end, and we headed back to the mainland, a couple wanted to sit outside, and I acted as if I was doing them a favor by taking the covered seat. I grabbed the tour guide's seat, as there was a window. It was a good decision, as it rained for half of the time on our return journey.
After the trip, I went to my room, changed and came running back to the beach for the sunset. The 800-meter run was totally worth it, as I was rewarded with a breathtaking view that I used as my new desktop wallpaper. That night, I was sad and disturbed, but that's a story for another day.
If you're looking for an adventure-filled day in Thailand, a tour to Phi Phi Island is a must-do. The island's natural beauty and crystal-clear waters are sure to leave you in awe, and the memories you create will last a lifetime. Don't miss out on this experience and book your tour today!
